This is an elementary stage of

SIZE OF SCHOOL :
a)
Maximum distance a child may walk 0.6 Km. i.e. not more than 10 minutes.
b)
A neighbor unit can be planned for 3 to 7 thousand no. of children
c)
School
going children may be roughly calculated on the basis that about 120 children
will be available for thousand population for a primary school.
d)
The
figure taken is 40 students / thousands(1000).
e)
This
index helps to find size of a school building.

slides, teeters, marry-go-round.

standards IV and V Space for games and
physical exercise.
COST:
a)
Non-productive areas such as verandas, administration, sanitary units, storage, circulation
etc. should be minimum and should not exceed 40% of total area i.e. the design
efficiency should be at least 60%.
b)
A
50% operable glazing is 35% economical than a fully operable glazing.
